LA Starts the Year with Blockbuster News

LA Starts the Year with Blockbuster News BY  SHELLEY LEVITT POSTED JANUARY 18, 2017 / CALIFORNIA MEETINGS & EVENTS We’re only a couple of weeks into 2017, and already there’s tons of good news to celebrate in Los Angeles. (Some of it, however, comes at the expense of other great California cities.) The Chargers announced that they would be relocating from San Diego to LA beginning with the 2017 NFL season. Just 12 months earlier, the Rams had returned to Los Angeles after 20 years in St. Louis. And, so, after more than 20 years without an NFL team, LA suddenly has two. The City of Angels will also be the setting for Star Wars creator George Lucas’ $1-billion Museum of Narrative Art. LA had vied with both Chicago and San Francisco to host the museum, which will house the filmmaker’s sprawling collection of fine and popular art, including Star Wars and Hollywood memorabilia. The futuristic 275,000-square-foot George Lucas Museum of Narrative Art will ...

The Peace Gala and Fundraiser is a time honored tradition at Soka University. All proceeds from the gala benefit the Soka University Scholarship Endowment fund. This very special evening is kicked off at  SUA's beautiful two-story, 8,000 square foot Founders Hall Art Gallery which served as the location for event registration, cocktail reception and silent auction. Following the cocktail reception and silent auction, guests make their way to the SUA Recreation Center for dinner, live auction and entertainment. It was important that the look and feel of this space not only WOW each guest but to also capture the essence of ...

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM INFINITY EVENTS!

Be Smart And Have Fun

INFINITY EVENTS produces the ultimate Welcome To OC Event

On January 6, IEI president, Robb Thornsberry produced the opening night event for 1200 attendees of The Special Event Conference & Tradeshow.  Although this is a typical event for many Anaheim conventions, these were not your typical convention attendees and this was not your typical welcome reception. Attendees of this event were other event professionals from around the world who have seen it all, so impressing them would not be an easy task.  This would require a venue that no one has ever seen before.  Since building a new venue would not be an option, Robb approached The Anaheim Garden Walk, a nearby outdoor shopping mall that had plenty of space and was within walking distance of the convention center or a brief 2 minute shuttle ride.  The challenge was to create an event that had to impress in a venue that has never been used as an event venue before. Utilizing two levels, in the back portion of the shopping center that sees very little foot traf...

The OC's Cool New Space

ANAHEIM PACKING HOUSE One of the few remaining packing houses from the agricultural era for which Orange County is named, the Anaheim Citrus Packing House is a landmark in both County and City history. Built in 1919 at the edge of downtown Anaheim and along the Southern Pacific rail line, the Packing House was a hub of commerce for the area. Local farmers arrived to unload trucks of freshly picked citrus to begin the process of washing, grading and eventual packing into wooden crates. Once completed, the crated and labeled citrus would be loaded onto rail cars parked on the side of the building to be shipped nationwide. The restored Packing House is a food hall reminiscent of the great public markets of South America and Europe. These markets serve as a resource for the neighborhood (daily food production) and a community gathering space (restaurants and entertainment). The two level Packing House features a large central atrium with communal dining surrounded by cafes and k...
